There's rain in the rainforest (Costa Rica)

Self-portrait of me gliding through the rainforest canopy in an aerial tram - in the rain and thunder mind you. Copyright (c) 2011 Wendee Holtcamp

The problem with the rainforest is... that when things get wet, they pretty much stay that way. It's humid, rainy and there's no AC or hair dryers. So, pretty much resign yourself to those jeans staying wet until you return home.

But - the up side is that in just one day I have seen a sloth, taken an aerial tram through the rainforest near Braulio Carrillo National Park, eaten some Lizano salsa, learned a new Costa Rican phrase (Tuanis) and met some really freaking cool women writers! Now it's bedtime. I went to bed around midnight and had to wake around 3am to get to the airport for a 6am international flight - aye yi yi! But it's soooo cool to see the gorgeous green lush rainforest - even with the rain!

I used Photoshop's pastels feature to get the image look above - more photos to come - hopefully tomorrow! Bedtime now.
